Is fabuloso safe for dogs?

I have a lab mix and I wanted to get the fabuloso (a fishy flavored) treats. But I read a few different things on here and in the other forums that the fishy taste could be toxic to the dogs and cause them to be unwell.

I have been feeding the treats to him and he loves them. I do try to give him the best I can afford and he doesn't seem unwell at all. Has anyone else heard of these products causing the dogs to become ill?

If you have the fishy treats from fabuloso, it should be fine. The ingredients are: "Chicken by-product, chicken liver, corn, wheat, potatoes, peanut oil, wheat flour, calcium propionate, natural and artificial flavoring, salt." You can find the ingredients here:

The "fabulous" treats were very expensive for what you get, so I'm not sure where the "fabulous" label is coming from. But if they're good for your dog, they're good for him.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I am just so concerned about what I am feeding him and that I want to know before I run out and buy all these products. I appreciate your help and thank you so much for your information.

I used to work in the pet food industry and that's what all the companies used to do. It was common practice in the industry to add ingredients that your pet wouldn't really be able to process properly or at all. This was done to extend the shelf life of the food.

What about a different treat than the fabuloso food? My dog is allergic to some other food from them and it's hard on his system. He's fine on the fabuloso food but some other food he's had to have a vet do an IV.

I would just be careful and check the labels of any food you buy for your dog. Sometimes ingredients in one brand are not the same as other brands.

Also, if you have an allergy to one of the ingredients of the food, then I would suggest to not give it to your dog. Your dog should have a full food made for him.

If you go to the website linked above, you can read the ingredients of the food. I'd recommend you read the ingredients carefully, because that would be the safest thing to do.

I have read the ingredients from the fabuloso website and they are very similar. I am a little concerned because I don't really want him to have the same taste from all these different products. I have read on another site that it is safe for dogs but I don't know if that's really true because he's allergic to other stuff from them.

I do that all the time, I have a problem with some foods being cheaper than others but the ingredients are the same. I guess I will just have to be cautious and buy the good food to start out.

Thank you for the information. I guess I just have to try to be careful to only buy from good quality food. I would hate to get a food with an ingredient I can't eat and my dog gets sick.
